| An Evening of Jazz

Not By Bread Alone’s (NBBA) first annual “An Evening Of Jazz” took place at the historic Atlanta Life Building located at 100 Auburn Avenue. Established in 1905 by Alonzo Herndon, a prosperous black barber and entrepreneur who rose from slavery to become the wealthiest African American in Atlanta, the Atlanta Life Company was one of three financial institutions, which served the black middle class in Atlanta. Herndon’s entrepreneurial spirit, desire to help his fellow man and will to achieve is what The Least Of These (a division of NBBA) works daily to accomplish with Atlanta’s youth today.
